Copy the API credentials
DataForSEO uses an API login and password, not a single key: find them in the API access panel.

Open Settings → Integrations, Step 2, enter API login and password and save.

What happens without these credentials
BeKnow still proposes opportunities, but they stay qualitative: the numbers that rank them and the ranking history are missing.

- Opportunities are not filtered by search volume
- CPC and competition are unavailable

Cost
You pay DataForSEO for usage at its own price list and BeKnow applies no markup. Cost depends on how many keywords you track and how often you refresh SERPs.

Is it a key or a login and password?
DataForSEO uses an API login and password. They are two separate fields in Settings → Integrations and differ from your website credentials.
Is DataForSEO mandatory?
No, it's step 2. Without it BeKnow still works on memory, AI visibility and the content plan, but opportunities stay qualitative and you get no ranking history.
Does it replace Search Console?
No. Search Console shows your real queries; DataForSEO shows the market: volumes, competition and who owns the SERP. BeKnow uses both together.
How are volumes used in opportunities?
Volume acts as a filter: keywords below your threshold are dropped, so the content plan stays focused on real demand.
Can I track several countries and languages?
Yes, rank tracking accepts country, language and device, so you can follow the same brand across markets.
