Create the account
Sign up on openrouter.ai and add credit: the initial credit on OpenRouter starts at a few dollars.

Copy the key
In the Keys section of your OpenRouter account, generate an API key and copy it.

Paste it into BeKnow
Open Settings → Integrations, Step 1, paste the key and save. Validation is immediate.

What happens without this key
BeKnow keeps working as brand memory and record: knowledge, content plan, MCP and Search Console stay active. What stops is the analysis layer.

Cost
You pay OpenRouter for usage at its own rates and BeKnow applies no markup. The cost depends on the model you choose and how many scans you run — you can set a spending limit inside your OpenRouter account.

Can BeKnow see my key?
The key is stored encrypted and used only for your workspace's calls. Revoke it from the OpenRouter panel and access ends immediately.
Can I use the free plan without OpenRouter?
Yes: the free plan includes one workspace, memory, MCP and Search Console. AI scans don't run on BeKnow keys, so yours are required.
Does this cover AI Overviews and AI Mode?
BeKnow measures how models answer the prompts you monitor and which sources they cite — the signal that also matters for Google's generative answers such as AI Overviews and AI Mode.
