Frequently asked questions
What does BYOK mean in BeKnow?
BYOK means bring your own key: you create an account with the provider, generate a key and paste it into BeKnow. The provider bills usage directly to you, and BeKnow only charges for the platform.
Which integration should I connect first?
Google Search Console, because it's free and brings your real data in immediately. Then OpenRouter: it's step 1, and without that key BeKnow produces no AI analysis.
Does the free plan include AI analysis?
No. The free plan includes one workspace, brand memory, the MCP server and Google Search Console. AI scans never run on BeKnow's keys — they need yours.
Where do the keys go?
In Settings → Integrations. Keys are split into Step 1 (OpenRouter, required) and Step 2 (Firecrawl and DataForSEO, enable them when you need them).
Can I use BeKnow without Firecrawl and DataForSEO?
Yes. Only the features that depend on them stay off: page audit and AI source verification without Firecrawl, rank tracking and search volumes without DataForSEO.
